Welcome
North Shore Church is a place where people can meet Jesus, engage in life-giving community, and everyone is welcome. We believe in creating an environment where people can have authentic encounters with Christ, develop deep, lasting relationships within the body of Christ, and join a family of believers dedicated to each other. We are a congregation of about 150 attenders and members, which fosters a small, welcoming, family setting where it's easy to get to know one another.
And we know that visiting a church can be a fearful thing. Sometimes you don’t know what to expect. Our desire is to make your visit to North Shore an enjoyable family event. Let us help you with answers to a few questions we would have if we were visiting.
Where is North Shore?
North Shore Church is located at 115 Hancock Street in Marinette, in a neighborhood known as Menekaunee, a few blocks from the shores of Green Bay. You can see a Google Maps location here.
What time should we be there?
Our Sunday Worship Service begins at 10AM. We hold Sunday School classes for all ages before our worship service, starting at 9AM. NSC Members and attenders frequently gather earlier to fellowship over coffee in our HUB area. If you have children attending with you, plan on being a little early so you can register with KidCheck, our secure check-in program, and get familiar with our Nursery and KidZone Ministries and locations.
What happens during a worship service?
After our greeting and brief announcements, we sing in our worship services. Our singing is a mixture of hymns and modern songs, led by our Praise Team. Our focus is on congregational singing, allowing everyone to participate in songs of praise, being mutually encouraged by each other.
The majority of our service is hearing from God’s word. At North Shore, our preaching is largely expository, meaning that our focus is on biblical texts - explaining the original meaning while revealing how God's word is for our spiritual growth and enjoyment of God. We will frequently focus on an entire book within the Bible for several months. You may want to view our Livestream and listen to our sermon podcasts.
What should I wear?
Attenders and members at North Shore wear a variety of styles and fashions. Some are comfortable in casual dress while others may choose business casual. Other than prioritizing modesty, there is no dress code. All are welcome.
What about children?
We love children at North Shore, as we are a family church with many children of all ages.
Guests always have the option of choosing what is best for their children. If you would like to keep them with you during the service, you are welcome to do so. We simulcast our service into two additional rooms where you can easily slip out the back door if you need to tend to any matters with your children. This allows you to watch and listen to the service on monitors with your child.
We also have a Nursery (ages 0-3) and classes available throughout any Sunday Morning. Leading each class are trained individuals who will provide a safe, loving environment for your child to enjoy and make friends. During the 9AM Sunday School, there are classes for all ages. During the 10AM Worship Service, Nursery and Roots (Children's Church - ages 4K-2nd Grade) is offered.
